Creativity

I’ve been crafting again!

Here is a card for my Dad:

On the inside it says: “Thanks for Hanging Around”

The T-Shirts were made by combining three punches. And I love thickers. So. Much.

And here is one for my second cousin who’s open house was this past weekend:

I used my favorite alphabet stamps for this one: Studio Calico’s Noah Alphabet

Today, I made another easter card, this time using an embossing technique. As always, if you see anything you like, you can go here and click shop to look around or drop me an email at: stampinsavvy@gmail.com

Hope you enjoy!

Hey there Crafty ladies!

A week ago, I posted a video of something I love to do as a hobby. Card making. I fell in love with it back in 2008, when I was sick of TTC and needed something else to think about every second of the day! I bought a few stamps, and some cardstock, watched a ton of YouTube videos (Kristina is my favorite!) and went to town.

This little hobby has become an addiction. So, naturally, when I got my first paycheck I bought the baby some new clothes and toys (because, face it, I couldn’t just buy myself something without feeling guilty!) and ordered a ton of Stampin’ Up! stuff. Currently, they are having a sale-a-bration! This is great promotion where if you spend 50 dollars, you get a free set of stamps/paper/tools from the sale-a-bration catalog. Of course this couldn’t have came at a better time! But, instead of getting my usual shipment of 3 or 4 things, I ended up getting…get this…24 FREE things with my order. (Yes, I used a credit card. It’s been a while =D) The thing is, I didn’t really spend that much.

But now I am here facing a pile of stamps I need to mount, and getting overwhelmed by it all. I love doing this stuff so much, but man I OVER DID IT! Whenever I have a little money to spend here and there (which is rare) I go WILD. I buy sooo much stuff, that I end up getting overwhelmed, and don’t touch it for a while. Funny huh?

So in an attempt to make sure I use it all, I will be posting a video every Saturday like the one here. Call it, Stampin’ Savvy Saturday.

BTW, I do sell the stuff I use, and would love it if you wanted to buy from me by going to:http://stampinsavvy.stampinup.net. But, ya know, you don’t have to. I am just an attention whore and like making videos! =D

Stay Tuned! Or, if you haven’t already,go watch my first video andsubscribe on YouTube! Thanks!

Since I talked about it last week, here are photos of my studio all finished! I absolutely love it. My own little quiet room.

This is the first room I have ever painted and redecorated by myself. Sure, it may be a little traditional, but I think I would have gotten sick of something too out there. I love how my angel/fairy pictures pop on the walls. I have had those since I was 17 years old, from artist L.A. Williams. They have traveled with me ever since…wherever those are hung, that is where home is. =)

Two rooms down! 5 more to go! =D

So I haven’t been blogging much on here because I have been addicted to Twitter. I have changed my username on there to: Megsamommy so add me if you like!

Let’s see what has gone on since the end of last year? A WHOLE HECK OF ALOT! I am now 34 weeks pregnant, and yeah, not feeling so small anymore:

‘L’ is a big big boy! We can’t wait to meet him!

We had our baby shower this past weekend, and finished all the classes, so we are ready I think. Ready for the next chapter! Chapter 5: Parenthood!

I had my 28th birthday also, and spent it in Megan style: With my feet up on the recliner, eating Outback Steakhouse take out, and watching HBO/Showtime series on TV. It was honestly really great, because I didn’t have the energy for anything else! Also, my husband was so gracious to get me the CS4 suite, and that has made me a lot more creative lately.

Well, up to about the last two weeks I was really creative, now, not so much. But I think I am getting my energy back a little bit. Which is spent on “nesting”. We got L’s room all ready, and pulled up the nasty carpet in the front room. Slowly but surely this big new house is turning into ours…it’s amazing how a coat of paint can make it feel like home!

Speaking of creativity, it has been mostly spent on web design. I am doing our cousin Katie’s photography site and having a lot of fun with it. It is boosting my confidence that yes, maybe I could freelance and be okay! But I have to get the mommy routine down first. Matt works from home, and supports us that way pretty well, so he and I decided that me taking some time off to be mommy for a couple of years is pretty okay! But I think I will want to go back to work eventually. And if I can start my own business, hey, even better! It’s not like I haven’t done it before!

Can you follow all that? Jeesh, they really aren’t kidding when it comes to preggo brain. I ramble constantly and rarely make any sense.

I’ll make sure and update more.
