Meg’s Bio

Hi! I am the author of Megs A Mommy, a personal ‘mommy blog’ of my journey as a mother, with family stories, family oriented product reviews and giveaways. I began this blog in 2009 as I was learning to be a new mom to my first baby, L, to reach out to the strong mommy community for support.

Looking for numbers? Here is my Media Kit.

You want to know more? Great!

I am 31 years old, a child of the 80′s and 90′s, married, and of course a mom to two beautiful children. I grew up in Flint, MI (no not THAT part of Flint), the youngest of two in a middle class family. My parents were in the medical field, a nurse and a respiratory therapist. I went to college for Graphic Design. I began training myself in web design during college (I even had a site on Geocities for a while, ha!) and when blogging became popular I signed up for LiveJournal.

I’ve never fancied myself a ‘writer’, persay, but I always have enjoyed it. As a child I wrote short stories and always kept them in a bound book (along with my sketches and paintings) and those books were always something I treasured. I got excited over paper (still do) and would have to find the perfect pen, with just the right tip, when starting anything writing related.

My life as a blogger

When blogging came about I was excited to jump on the bandwagon, and started blogging 12 years ago on LiveJournal chronicling my life as a college student (>_< damn I feel old typing that) and spewing the deep thoughts of said life onto the internets for my friends to read. Back in the day, we were using LJ as a social network keeping up old highschool friends and college acquaintances. We would follow each others blogs, and eventually, blogging led me to my husband.

My husband and I were both friends with my college friend, and I began reading his blog because my friend followed him on LJ. I remember thinking “I wonder what this guy is like in real life”. I read his blog for about 6 months – little did I know, he was reading mine too. He made the first move, and commented on my blog. I then commented on his. After a while of doing this, we began chatting on AIM, and then he made another move and asked for my number…and I refused. I’ll save the rest of this story for a post!

My blog’s mission

So as you can see, when I decided to start this blog back in 2009, it was only natural. =D I blog for myself, for my kids and our family history. I think it’s important to journal things, and I love looking back and reading the memories. I love doing product reviews and conducting giveaways. I try to keep this blog as digital scrapbook and keep it as authentic as my LiveJournal was 12 years ago.

I do hope you’ll subscribe and join me for this leg of my journey as a mother, and watch my kids grow!

Of course this blog is PR Friendly, please feel free to contact me with any questions or requests!
